A Nudge Inspired by a Comedian
Calling in my "off" week, fighting with tech, and remembering why all of this matters
Hey there.
This might be my first five-Monday month since falling into a posting rhythm here on B is for Book Coach, and it kind of sent me into a tailspin for a little bit.
I won’t bore you with those details, but it did lead to me naming some things that might not matter externally but are very helpful for me internally. And then honoring those things, and feeling grateful that it gave me a bit of an “off” week during an otherwise busy season.
And that’s what this month’s “nudge” for paid subscribers is all about.
If you’re not familiar, I hold space on Zoom twice a month for paid subscribers, in a subscription model that’s about ongoing coaching and support rather than hiding content behind a nominal paywall.
This last Friday was our first call of the month, where I offer a “Nudge” for your writing project—live if you’re able to pop in, or recorded if you’re not.
And my whole entire tech situation imploded in my face.
Thankfully, no one was waiting on Zoom for the hour and ten minutes that it took me to finally open Zoom.
And I had just watched this clip from comedian Josh Johnson, reminding me that the work that we’re here for is worth the frustration. It’s not an escape. It’s not always easy. It is always worth it.
Give it a look.
And then catch the Nudge…
